The Executive Branch is responsible for executing the initiatives, programs, and services of the Student Government Association. This branch supports programs and services such as the Hokie Effect Shirt program, First-Year Leadership Experience Program (FLEX), and Hokie Day.

The President and Vice President are elected during the spring elections and are responsible for appointing the leaders to various positions within the executive branch at the end of the spring semester. In addition to the President and Vice President, the Secretary and Treasurer are also Executive Officers.

The President of the Student Government Association is the official spokesperson for the student body to administration. The President is in charge of the SGA Cabinet, appoints students to serve within University Governance, and advocates student needs to University Administration.

The President meets with the University President and Provost regularly as a member of the University President’s Advisory Group.

The Vice President of the Student Government Association is in charge of the Executive Branch and oversees all internal operations of Student Government.

The Vice President assists the President as necessary.

The Secretary of the Student Government Association assists the President and Vice President with matters of the organization, takes all meeting minutes and attendance, and works directly with the directors of the executive branch to advise on initiatives and help create working relationships between members and other student organizations.
